Underfloor Heating Zone
A dedicated heating circuit: Type-C breaker, a heating thermostat switching both poles, and the mat itself. Heating is a fixed load, so it never shares a circuit with anything else.

Steps
- 1Place Live and Neutral terminals, then a Type-C MCB on the live conductor.
- 2Place a heating thermostat, then the heating mat as the load.
- 3Wire Live through the MCB into the thermostat L-in, and Neutral into its N-in.
- 4Take both switched poles — Load-L and Load-N — out to the mat.
- 5Press Run, then open the thermostat: both poles of the mat go dead, not just the live.
A heating thermostat is double-pole: it breaks live and neutral together so the element really is isolated when it stops calling for heat. Type-C breakers ride out the element’s inrush where a Type B can nuisance-trip.
These walkthroughs teach wiring logic in a simulator. Real installation work must be isolated, tested dead, and carried out by a competent person — in the UK, notified under Part P or done by a registered electrician.
