Junction Box
Where cables meet. Every joint has to live in an enclosure you can still open in ten years’ time.
- Enclosure — round or rectangular, with a screw-down lid
- Terminal block — a strip connector, one screw per conductor
- Cable entries — knockouts or glands that grip the sheath
- Lid fixing screw — keeps the lid on and the joint enclosed
- Base fixing holes — screws that anchor the box to the joist or wall
