Timer-Controlled Bell

A bell or buzzer on a timed contact. The timer switch is an ordinary switch driven by a clock, which is why the bell sounds for a set period and then stops on its own.

Steps

  1. 1Place a Live (L) terminal and a Neutral (N) terminal on the canvas.
  2. 2Place an MCB on the live side, then a Timer Switch to its right.
  3. 3Place a Bell as the load.
  4. 4Wire: Live → MCB → Timer Switch → Bell → Neutral.
  5. 5Press Run, then toggle the timer switch to stand in for the timed contact closing and opening.
  6. 6Select the timer in the Inspector to compare its weekly, staircase and countdown variants.
Key insight

A timer switch is a switch with a clock attached: it closes the live conductor for a set interval, then opens it. A bell is an intermittent load, so the timer is what stops it being left energised.
