ElectraSim v1.5: Faster, Easier, and More Accessible

ElectraSim v1.5 focuses on making the simulator feel better every time you use it. This update does not add a complicated new tool. Instead, it improves everyday tasks such as moving around a circuit, using the app with a keyboard, saving your work, sharing a circuit, and finding useful learning content.

The result is a smoother, easier, and more dependable experience for students, teachers, electricians, and anyone learning how circuits work.

Smoother Editing on Larger Circuits

The most noticeable change is how the circuit canvas responds when a diagram becomes busy.

Moving around the canvas now feels steadier, and dragging several items together is more predictable. ElectraSim keeps the group together and records the move as one action, so one Undo takes the whole group back to its previous position.

When a large circuit is being moved, the app may briefly show a simpler view of some details. Everything returns as soon as you stop moving. This helps the editor stay responsive without changing the finished circuit or removing any information.

This is not a visual redesign. Your components, wires, controls, and familiar workflow remain where you expect them.

Easier to Use Without a Mouse

The circuit canvas is now more useful for people who prefer or need keyboard controls.

You can move through components, connection points, and wires with the keyboard. You can select circuit items, begin and finish a connection, and choose a wire to change its destination without having to return to a mouse.

Other accessibility improvements include:

• Clearer spoken labels for screen-reader users
• A visible focus marker so you can see which item is selected
• Better focus movement when opening and closing a window
• More consistent Escape-key behaviour
• Status information that does not depend on colour alone
• Respect for reduced-motion preferences
• Controls and panels that remain usable on smaller screens

The standard ElectraSim editor remains the main experience for everyone, including keyboard and screen-reader users.

Saving and Sharing Remain Private

ElectraSim still saves circuits and settings in your browser. You do not need an account, and this release does not upload your circuit to an ElectraSim database.

Share links continue to carry the circuit inside the link itself. Older share links still work, and imported files are checked before they are opened. The app also does more to finish saving recent changes when you leave or close the page.

You can still export your work as:

• An ElectraSim circuit file that you can open again later
• An image for notes or teaching material
• A printable circuit sheet
• A shareable link

Quicker to Open, Simpler to Explore

The simulator now gives priority to the tools needed to begin building. Extra windows such as Settings, Import and Export, and Help are prepared when you open them. This reduces unnecessary work at startup while keeping every feature available.

Offline support is still available after the app has been installed and opened successfully. Existing circuits, exports, themes, fault tools, smart wiring, and custom wiring continue to work as before.

A Clearer Learning Website

The ElectraSim website was improved alongside the app. Blog pages, topic pages, guides, and navigation are now easier to browse on desktop and mobile.

Images are better matched to the size of the screen, article links are checked before release, and the app and learning pages are easier for search engines to find. The newest update also appears on the homepage, making it easier to discover without searching through the full blog.

No Added Tracking

ElectraSim v1.5 does not add analytics, advertising pixels, tracking cookies, or outside font services. Your circuit work remains local unless you choose to download it, share it, or follow a link to an external service.

The company that hosts the website may keep basic security and access logs under its own policies. ElectraSim does not add a separate service to follow what you do in the browser.

More Confidence in Everyday Tasks

Before an update is released, ElectraSim now checks the common actions people depend on: opening the site, loading the simulator, moving around a circuit, running a simulation, using phone-sized layouts, following internal links, and opening the app offline.

These checks do not replace testing on real phones, tablets, and computers, but they help catch everyday problems before an update reaches the public site.

What Has Not Changed

ElectraSim is still a browser-based learning and planning tool. You can build circuits from a blank canvas, open Guided Circuits, add faults, switch between smart and custom wiring, save locally, and export your work.

Version 1.5 improves that foundation without asking you to learn a new interface.
